L'année 2021 est déjà bien entamée, et de nombreux pays émettent de merveilleux timbres sur des thèmes variés. Il nous est impossible de couvrir tout ce qui est intéressant, mais certains thèmes ont plus de poids que d'autres à nos yeux.
L'un de ces thèmes spéciaux est l'émission annuelle des timbres EUROPA, dont le thème est commun. Les pays participants émettent leurs timbres EUROPA à différents moments de l'année, mais nous avons déjà une poignée d'excellents timbres cette année.
Le thème commun de l'année 2021 est la faune nationale en danger et, comme son nom l'indique, les timbres représentent tous des animaux sauvages originaires du pays émetteur et menacés d'extinction dans leur habitat naturel.
En commençant par l'émission des îles Féroé, nous voyons le macareux moine, un oiseau nichant au sol et originaire des îles Féroé. Le macareux était l'un des oiseaux les plus répandus dans le nord au cours des siècles précédents, mais l'introduction du rat brun dans les zones de reproduction du macareux a fait de ce dernier la proie du rat. Das Jahr 2021 ist bereits in vollem Gange, und viele Länder geben zahlreiche wunderbare Briefmarken mit unterschiedlichen Themen heraus - wir können unmöglich alles Interessante abdecken, aber einige Themen haben bei uns ein höheres Gewicht als andere.
Eines dieser Sonderthemen ist die jährliche Ausgabe der gemeinsam thematisierten EUROPA-Briefmarken. Die teilnehmenden Länder geben ihre EUROPA-Briefmarken zu verschiedenen Zeitpunkten im Laufe des Jahres heraus, aber in diesem Jahr haben wir bereits eine Handvoll toller Briefmarken.
Das gemeinsame Thema im Jahr 2021 ist "Gefährdete nationale Wildtiere", und wie der Name schon sagt, zeigen die Briefmarken alle Wildtiere, die im Ausgabeland heimisch sind und in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum vom Aussterben bedroht sind.
Den Anfang macht die Ausgabe der Färöer Inseln mit dem Papageientaucher, einem bodenbrütenden Vogel, der auf den Färöer Inseln heimisch ist. Der Papageientaucher war in früheren Jahrhunderten einer der am weitesten verbreiteten Vögel im Norden, aber die Einführung der Wanderratte in Gebieten, in denen der Papageientaucher brütete, bedeutete, dass der Papageientaucher der Ratte zum Opfer fiel. Zusammen mit dem schwindenden Nahrungsangebot, das durch die Erwärmung der Meere verursacht wurde, führte dies zu einem starken Rückgang der Papageientaucherpopulation.

2021 is well under way already, and a lot of countries are issuing numerous wonderful stamps with varying themes - there is no possible way for us to cover everything that is interesting, but some themes carry a higher weight with us than others.
One of these special themes is the annual issue of the commonly themed EUROPA stamps. The participating countries issue their EUROPA stamps at various times over the span of the year, but we already have a handful of great stamps so far this year.
The common theme in 2021 is Endangered National Wildlife and as the name suggests, the stamps all feature wildlife which is native to the issuing country, and facing extinction in their natural habitat.
Starting with the Faroe Islands issue, we see the Atlantic Puffin, which is a ground-nesting bird that is native to the Faroe Islands. The puffin was one of the most widespread birds in the north in earlier centuries, but the introduction of the brown rat in areas where the puffin bred meant that the puffin fell prey to the rat. Along with diminishing food supplies caused by warming seas, this lead to the puffin population dropping severely.
